Do you need some new ideas for jewelry gifts? There may be more choices than you think. This article lists different types of gift from the head down to the toes. It will remind you of the traditional choices, and some you may not have thought of.

Our trip down the body starts at the hair. There are hair-clips, hair-grips, hair-slides and hair-bands. Everything from simple designs to enamel and jeweled examples. There are hair-bands with messages or symbols. There are hair brushes and other personal grooming items such as crystal and silver tweezers.

Onto the head go circlets, tiaras and all manner of head decoration. These can run from simple metal items to gem covered objects of beauty. From history we get the ‘Torc’ (or ‘Torque’). These were introduced by peoples such as the ancient Britons. A torc consists of a metal strip twisted and placed around the head, arm or neck.

On to ears go earrings. These can be for pierced or non-pierced ears. There are other types of piercings for other parts of the body. Although ear-piercing is normal some of the other types can involve minor surgery. This can have a significant health risk. We do not advocate this and mention it here for completeness. There are also clip-on (and pierced) nose-rings if that is suitable for the recipient.

Around the neck we have necklaces, pendants and chokers. There are watches that can be worn on a chain. A designer neck-chain for spectacles makes an unusual jewelry gift. If you want to make a gift of a religious symbol then you will need to choose it with care. It could pose an issue for the recipient if they receive more than one of a particular symbol.

On the clothing there are pins, pendants and brooches. A more informal gift may be a badge or button, especially for a collector. Such items can be associated with a particular TV show, book or movie. There are even pieces of jewelry that exist as copies of objects from popular movies.

For the fingers we have rings and there are also thumb rings. Rings can range from those having symbols such as skulls or happy faces to extremely expensive designer jewelry. If you are going to consider purchasing an expensive ring then ensure that you can afford it and that you get the correct size.

For the arms there are watches, bracelets and bangles. A popular type of bracelet is a charm bracelet. With this jewelry gift the you can add additional ‘Charms’ to the bracelet. This could give you the possibility of giving a charm each year as a regular gift. You could also give a Torc to the right sort of person.

Toe-rings are available for the toes. These are only suitable if the recipient is likely to have the type of footwear to show them off. Ankle bracelets are available in all types and price ranges. You need to make sure that such a bracelet is strong enough for the likely use it will get.
